Michigan vs. Ohio State: Live thread and updates from The Game at the Big House

The Michigan Wolverines and Ohio State Buckeyes meet at the Big House in the biggest game of the year.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Three-hundred and sixty-four days have passed since Michigan and Ohio State clashed in a battle of undefeated teams. On Saturday, the two storied programs will do it again.

The stakes are befitting a rivalry of this magnitude. One team, the Buckeyes or the Wolverines, will reach the Big Ten Championship Game. It’s likely only one team will make the College Football Playoff. And one team will leave Michigan Stadium with questions about the identity of its program.

All will be decided at noon at the Big House on Saturday.

Michigan vs. Ohio State: What they said

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh on the rivalry and on Marvin Harrison Jr.: “It's all about this game. That's where our focus is — getting prepared and getting ready to execute. And I think our team is battle-tested and it's gonna be tough to beat. Looking forward to it. … [Harrison Jr.] reminds me a lot of his dad. Great player. You gotta be covering him. Slow him down is probably the better word. Do our best to do that and everything works together. Pass rush: The faster, the more pressure they can put on the quarterback, the better the coverage is going to be. Same with the coverage: the better the coverage is going to be, then that allows the pass rush to get home.

Ohio State coach Ryan Day on the rivalry: “Not that it's easy, but the only thing that matters is this game, is this team, is preparing. The rest of it doesn't matter, so that's what we have to do. We have got to stay disciplined enough to focus on that. And it goes back to the conversation about emotion, letting emotion of the game or everything get in the way — we can't do that. And every year you learn more and more about this game and the preparation for it. We're not gonna let any of that stuff get in our way in terms of distractions. We're just gonna focus on this team, this season and preparing the best we possibly can.”
